Campus Information

Campus Security

The gates to the school will open at 7:25 AM and will close at 7:45. Anyone entering the campus after 7:45 must come through the front office and SIGN IN. The only adults allowed on campus are approved volunteers or special visitors approved through the front office. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in maintaining a secure campus.

Before School Supervision

The playground will be open to students in the morning beginning at 7:25 am.  The gates to the school are locked until then. No supervision will be provided before 7:25 am so students should not arrive at school before this time.

Students Arriving Late

The first bell rings at 7:40 am and the late bell will ring at 7:45. All gates will be closed at 7:45. If your student arrives after the 7:45 late bell, they will receive a tardy slip. Students can walk themselves to the classroom. If you want to walk your student to class, you must sign in at the front office.

Students Leaving Early

Once students arrive, they may not leave unless a parent or other authorized person comes to the office to sign them out.  To ensure the safety of our children, you will be required to show identification when you pick up your child. Please notify the classroom teacher the day before or the morning of the checkout.  Parents are to come to the front office and your student will be called up from the classroom by the office staff.  You will be required to sign the student out in the student checkout log. Please refrain from checking your student out during lunch or recess. It is difficult to locate students on the playground and will prolong the checkout process.

School Lunch

School lunch and breakfast are free to all students this year to all PUSD students.

Attendance

The absence reporting phone number is (858)484-8087. State law requires that attendance be verified. Please call the absence line if your child will be absent from school and give specific information regarding the absence. If you bring your child late to school for a dentist or doctor appointment, please bring a note from the medical office to help excuse your student’s absence.

Medication at School

Located on the Poway Unified School District website (powayusd.com), you will find valuable Health Information. On the main page of the website, look for the “Parents” tab. Go to the Drop Down Menu and select ”Health Information”. From there you will find many topics regarding student health at school. The topics include Immunization information and important information about having medication at school. You may also download forms required for medication at school.

Volunteers

All volunteers need to have a TB Test result, Megan’s Law paperwork completed and a signed Volunteer Code of Conduct. You must be cleared prior to volunteering on campus.

Parking Lot Drop Off & Pick Up

Student safety is our number one concern. All cars are to drive SLOWLY when in the parking lot and traffic circle. Everyone must use one of the two crosswalks in the parking lot. When dropping off and picking up students in the traffic circle please drive all the way around the outer edge of the circle then pull all the way forward to drop off/pick up your child at the curb.  Do not let your child out of the car until you are stopped at the edge of the curb.  Never leave your car unattended in the loading zone.  If you need to enter the school campus for any reason, please park your car in a designated space in the lot or on the street.

Extended Student Services

There is an ESS program located at Adobe Bluffs, which is a fee-based after school childcare program.  ESS is open from 12:00 PM (for our TK students )to 6:00 P.M.  All students planning to participate in ESS

must be registered at the ESS building.  Please call 858-538-2672 for information regarding registration and fees.
